God created human beings to be equal, but different as male and female. He created man and woman in a different ways, at different times, and for different purposes (Genesis 2:7, 16-18, 22).
God created and defined the institution of marriage. He designed the act of sex for one man and one woman in the faithfulness of marriage. Only God can create life, but what a gracious God He is to allow husband and wife to partner with Him in this procreational act.
God's Word, in both Old and New Testaments, speaks clearly about saving sexual intimacy for marriage. He calls us to holy living (1 Thess. 4:3-7) and to remember we were bought at great price (1 Cor. 6:18-20).
Marriage, childbirth, and growth of the human community were a part of God's plan for humankind from before the Fall (Genesis 1:28).
