God's Word for Life
The Creator and Redeemer of Life has much to say about His creation.
GOD IS THE CREATOR
OF ALL LIFE
PSALM 8:4-5 What is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of man that You care for him? Yet you have made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor.
PSALM 95:6 Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker!
ACTS 17:24-25 The God who made the world and everything in it, being Lord of heaven and earth, does not live in temples made by man, nor is he served by human hands, as though He needed anything, since He Himself gives to all mankind life and breath and everything.
JOB 33:4 The Spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life.
PSALM 139:13-16 For You formed my inward parts; You knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise You, for i am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are Your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from You, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in Your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there were none of them.
ECCLESIASTES 11:5 As you do not know the way the spirit comes to the bones in the womb of a woman with child, so you do not know the work of God who makes everything.
ISAIAH 44:24 Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, who formed you from the womb: "I am the Lord, who made all things, who alone stretched out the heavens, who spread out the earth by Myself."
JESUS LOVES THE LITTLE CHILDREN
PSALM 127:3 Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward.
MARK 10:13 And they were bringing children to Him that He might touch them, and the disciples rebuked them. But when Jesus saw it, He was indignant and said to them, "Let the little children come to Me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God."
GOD DOES NOT JUSTIFY ABORTION OR "MERCY KILLING" IN CASES OF RAPE, INCEST, OR BIRTH DEFECTS
DEUTERONOMY 30:19-20 I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live, loving the Lord your God, obeying His voice and holding fast to Him.
ISAIAH 45:9-11 Woe to him who strives with him who formed him, a pot among earthen pots! Does the clay say to him who forms it, "What are you making?" or "Your work has no handles"? Woe to him who says to a father, "What are you begetting?" or to a woman, "With what are you in labor?" Thus says the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, and the one who formed him, "Ask me of things to come; will you command Me concerning My children and the work of My hands?"
GALATIANS 6:2 Bear one another's burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ.
HEALING AND HOPE
FOR WRONG DECISIONS
HEALING AND HOPE
FOR WRONG DECISIONS
PSALM 32:3-5 For when I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long. For day and night Your hand was heavy upon me; my strength was dried up as by the heat of summer. I acknowledged my sin to You, and I did not cover my iniquity; I said, "I will confess my transgressions to the Lord," and You forgave the iniquity of my sin.
ISAIAH 61:1 He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound.
JEREMIAH 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for wholeness and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
JOHN 8:10-11 Jesus stood up and said to her, "Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?" She said, "No one, Lord." And Jesus said, "Neither do I condemn you; go, and from now on sin no more."
1 PETER 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to His great mercy, He has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
1 JOHN 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to fogive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
GOD'S TIMING, PRESENCE,
and HOPE IN HUMAN SUFFERING AND DEATH
PSALM 23:4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
PSALM 31:15a My times are in Your hand.
PSALM 130:5 I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in His word I hope.
PSALM 139:1-5 O Lord, You have searched me and known me! You know when I sit down and when I rise up; You discern my thoughts from afar. You search out my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways. Even before a word is on my tongue, behold, O Lord, You know it altogether. You hem me in, behind and before, and lay Your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high; I cannot attain it.
ISAIAH 46:4 Even to your old age I am He, and to gray hairs I will carry you. I have made, and I will bear; I will carry and will save.
ISAIAH 55:8-9 For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.
ROMANS 8:28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose.
ROMANS 8:32 He who did not spare His own Son but gave Him up for us all, how will He not also with Him graciously give us all things?
